Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What if I purchase my ticket(s) and find that I cannot attend?

Answer:  You may receive a refund up to 1700 (5:00pm) on Friday, 25 July 2008.  [Note: If you purchased before 01 June and won one of the prizes, refunds will be taken on a case-by-case basis- this is to prevent someone from purchasing a ticket, winning, and then cancelling their attendance at the Ball.]

Question:   How many entries do I get in the early ticket purchase opportunity?

Answer:  One entry per ticket purchase.

Question:   Where is the childcare?

Answer:  The room for childcare is in the same suite as the Ballroom, so your child will be close and in a secure location.  Girl Scout Leaders (Adults) will be supervising the Girl Scouts in caring for the children.

Question:  Can Active Duty Coast Guard member wear something other than the uniform (i.e. ballgown)?

Answer:  "Yes, an Active Duty Coast Guard couple can wear civilian formal attire, however at least one member must be in uniform."

Question:   How can I be certain that emails I receive from PayPal are legitimate?

Answer:  After placing an order through PayPal, you should get an email back from PayPal addressed to you by Name. It uses the name from your credit card.  The email from PayPal addressed to you by name, keep as your receipt and proof of payment.  If you receive an email addressed "Dear PayPal Member" delete immediately and do not take any action; as these type of emails are referred to as "Phishing." 

Question: After I purchase my ticket(s), when will I receive my ticket(s)?

Answer: There are no paper tickets.  If you order online, you will receive a receipt from PayPal- that is your proof of purchase. Your meal and seating preference information will be added to the CG Ball Master ticket list which will be available at the Check-In table on the day of the Ball.  Make sure you click "Return to Merchant" to fill out the form with your meal and seating preferences.  You will also receive an email from the CG Ball Committee verifying your purchase.  If you pay for your tickets by cash or check, your information will be added to the spreadsheet and you will receive an email from the CG Ball Committee verifying your purchase.
